With the sOU Remote App, you control the running sOU desktop from your phone or tablet. You can observe players, operate HUD panels and the active match, or display live HUD output on your mobile device.
Get the app
Links to the App Store and Google Play will be added here when the app is available there. If you have already been explicitly given test access, follow the installation instructions provided with it.
Requirements
- An Android or iOS phone or tablet with the sOU Remote App installed.
- sOU is running on the Windows PC with a workspace open and the local service started.
- The PC and mobile device are on the same private network and can reach each other. A guest Wi-Fi network with device isolation can prevent the connection.
- For player switching, CS2 is running in a suitable observer or demo session with a current HLAE control connection. GSI alone does not control the camera. See Start CS2 with HLAE for setup and Game data and connections for an explanation of the sources.
Pair using a QR code
- On the PC, open Connections → sOU Remote App. If the local service is not running yet, first use Start service.
- Under Private network, select the address of the network used by your mobile device. When listening on all interfaces is enabled, this selector is called Address for the app.
- In the pairing area, click Start remote control. sOU displays the QR code for this PC.
- Open the app, choose Scan QR code and allow camera access. Scan the code displayed on the PC.
- Review the displayed destination and confirm with Connect. Then check the current data and a suitable action before your cast.
Without a camera, open Connect without a camera on the PC and import the pairing details into the app as a file or text. This is the fallback option. The QR code and pairing details contain persistent access to this PC; use them only on your own devices and do not share them in screenshots or bug reports.
Pairing view on the PC
In wide windows, the sOU Remote App card shows network and startup settings on the left and a large QR code on the right. In narrow windows, these areas appear one below the other. The pairing area remains visible even when remote control is stopped; it then offers Start remote control.
While remote control is active, move the pointer over the QR code to dim it and reveal two stacked actions: the smaller New code button and the larger Stop remote control button. You can also reach the actions with Tab; they appear when they receive keyboard focus.
On touch devices, use the Actions toggle next to the pairing heading to open or close the actions. To scan the QR code, move the pointer away, move keyboard focus out of the QR area, or close Actions so the code is fully visible.
Use saved connections
After successful pairing, the app saves the connection as a profile. Under Connections, you can select, rename or remove multiple sOU destinations. Connect on app launch applies to the last selected profile if you enable the option for it.
Disconnecting ends the current connection and keeps the profile. Remove deletes the saved access from this mobile device only; scan the QR code again to reconnect. Switching profiles also switches the sOU destination you control.
App areas
- Live: Check the current state of the connected sOU instance and its game data.
- Observer: View the Boltobserv radar, team and player information, and use the slots to switch to players. In tablet landscape mode, the map sits between the two slot columns; in portrait mode, the slots partly overlap it.
- yaibo: Operate the automatic camera. The additional yaibo requirements apply.
- HUD: Operate the available fields and actions of an installed HUD panel. Their effect depends on the HUD; see HUD panels.
- Match: Control the active match and its available match actions.
- View: Select a HUD and the desired output or panel, and display the live output in a real web view. Selecting content for your mobile display does not replace an OBS source or desktop output.
Manage service startup and access
On the PC, you can enable All network interfaces. The service then listens on all IPv4 and IPv6 interfaces; the QR code still contains the selected private IPv4 address. Stop remote control before changing its network binding.
Use Start mobile remote control with sOU and Save settings to enable automatic startup together with the local service. Without this option, start remote control yourself when needed. sOU does not change firewall rules and needs no cloud connection for control data.
Stop remote control pauses the service. Pairing is retained after a normal restart. In contrast, New code or Reset pairing revokes the previous access for all devices. Pair those devices again using the new QR code.
If the connection fails
Check the service status, selected network address and reachability between the PC and mobile device. After changing networks, you may need a different address; after resetting pairing, you need the new code. If only game data or camera functions are missing, check the separate GSI and HLAE connections. For local service issues, see Troubleshooting.
